Club Philosophy:

Creating a professional setting for the complete development of the youth soccer player. The St. Pete Strikers Soccer Club will focus on player development - from the older competitive teams to the younger recreational teams. It is our ultimate charge to prepare players for a college career - which means player development begins at the youngest age group. Championships are not found at the bottom of a CrackerJacks box - all it takes to be a champion is all you have.

Coaching Philosophy:

Our coaches fully understand the demands of the modern game. In a professional setting, using professional techniques, the St. Pete Strikers coaching staff will develop the technical and tactical aspect of each individual player while stressing total team development.

Individual Player/Team Focus:

Technical Skills - Ball Control, passing and receiving, possession, dribbling, 1v1 skills, finishing (from angles & under pressure), heading, service into the penalty area, tackling, defensive clearing, foot skills and speed.

Tactical Awareness - Defensive shape, defending in numbers, playing out of the back, overlapping runs, combination play, direct play out of the back, midfield supporting runs, attacking with width, principles of attack.

Game Knowledge - Various systems of play, proper decision making, pre-game preparation and professionalism.

Physical Strength & Speed - Agility Training, footwork with ball, running efficiency, power development, strength work to help prevent injury.

Pre-Game Preparation - Proper nutrition & diet, proper fitness and proper stretching.
